Old Tunes & Velvet Vibes

I was routing around in my family’s storage room and I came across my old CD collection, which only consisted of like 5 CDs. I remember when I bought my very first albums. I was probably around 11 years old and I had a bit of money to spend, so my mom brought me to the local record store. I picked out two albums, Stripped by Christina Aguilera and Greatest Hits by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pretty odd combo, I know. But I listened to those two CDs over and over! So when I found them buried away in storage, I obviously had to break them out and blast them!

Anyways! All this music made me reminiscent of the 90s/early 2000s, and what else could that remind you of? VELVET !!! And I obviously had to do my hair like Xtina used to too!

I made this lingerie set using two Ohhh Lulu patterns and I loved both of them. I didn’t have to make any fitting adjustments at all! I’ve never really made my own undergarments before so I had to do a few experiments sewing on the elastic. I will definitely be making a few more sets but in a more practical fabric next time. For the top I used the Longline Bralette pattern and for the bottoms I used the Mary Ribbon Cinch Hipster Panties pattern. They were both pretty quick to sew up and made for a fun weekend of sewing!
