Sewing your own swimwear has gotten such a bad rap in the past. I remember when I first wanted to sew my own swimsuit when I was maybe 11 years old, everyone told me not to, that it was just too hard and that it would never turn out. I am so glad I never listened to them because I have made several fabulous swimsuits since! Including this one!
This is the Bombshell Swimsuit pattern by Closet Case Files as I’m sure most of you already know (I am way behind on this one!). I love how this swimsuit turned out, I plan to live in it the rest of the summer! I made it out of a matte spandex I got from Ann’s Fabric in Hamilton about a year ago. I didn’t totally follow the notches or the suggested elastic lengths, but those are the only things I changed and I loved everything about this pattern! I graded the straight seams at the hip, and I was bit worried about how it would turn out with having curved seams, but it turned out totally fine! My mom wants one next but in matte black. I was thinking of making it out of the new Eurojersey from Bra-Makers Supply, anyone tried it out yet? Is it as amazing as it sounds?
My brother’s girlfriend took these silly pictures of me at the cottage on the huge inflatable swan! It was harder to balance on than you’d think! Hence the last picture!
Hope your summers are full of sunshine! Thanks for reading! 🌞
And stay tuned for an upcoming childrenswear pattern I will be releasing shortly! I am so excited to share my very first sewing pattern with you guys!
